Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD released yesterday and with it came the associated Zelda and Loftwing Amiibo. Well, that’s what was supposed to happen.
According to a report by Nintendo Life, the Zelda and Loftwing Amiibo is facing shipment delays in the United States. These “unforeseen shipping delays” means that most of the stock will not be available at launch. The shipments are expected to be delayed until August.
While amiibo functionality is often ancillary to the game itself, the Zelda and Loftwing amiibo’s in-game benefits are tremendous. The amiibo allows Link to fast-travel to and from the game’s hub area Skyloft and the Surface. Link can restock on items in Skyloft and quickly resume the adventure down on the Surface.
This feature is particularly useful because Link normally needs to use bird statues to travel between the areas, with bird statues placed somewhat infrequently. Thus, this quick travel makes playthroughs much more convenient, especially as it can also be used to travel to and from dungeons.
