Xiaomi’s bezel-less phone, Mi MIX, left no one indifferent when it was unveiled. We knew it would sell like hotcakes but in retrospective, that was the understatement of the year. The truth is the phone sold with lightning speed, after just 10 seconds from launch! #mobilemagic
All units put up for sale by the company were purchased by enthusiastic Chinese in just 10 seconds, establishing a new record. The previously extremely successful sale in China was that of Xiaomi Note 2. That smartphone disappeared from the website and in customers’ pockets in 50 seconds.
This time though, we’re talking about the first phone to feature an almost edge-to-edge display. Two versions were available to purchase – the Standard model with 4GB plus 128GB storage and the Exclusive model that featured 6GB and 256GB storage. The latter sold for $740!
Fact is, we don’t know exactly how many units were put up for sale as the company said it would only manufacture 10.000 units/month. Still, it’s a triumph for the Chinese company and an indication that the affinity for the brand keeps on growing.
If you had your eye on the phone but didn’t get a chance to buy one then, wait for restock – it should happen at the beginning of next week. November 8, according to Xiaomi Today.
