If the name Nova 5i pro doesn’t ring a bell for you that’s because the phone Huawei has recently unveiled in China is more well-known internationally as the Mate 30 Lite.
The Nova 5i pro has a 6.26 inch full-HD+ (1080×2340 pixels) IPS display that features a DCI-P3 colour gamut and a 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The octa-core Kirin 810 chipset under the hood comes in combinations of 6GB RAM + 128GB storage, 8GB RAM + 128GB and 8GB RAM + 256GB storage for the high-end variant.
On the photo and video side, the phone had a quad camera setup on the back made out of a 48MP main sensor with an f/1.8 lens. Alongside it we can also find an 8MP with a super wide-angle lens, a 2MP tertirary sensor with a macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The camera setup comes with PDAF support and supports HDR, night mode, portrait mode and time-lapse.
The 32MP selfie camera is hosted in a punch-hole set on the left side of the screen. It has an f/2.0 lens and supports AI beauty mode and HDR.
The phone runs Android 9 Pie with, of course, EMUI 9.1.1 on top and, as far as connectivity goes, we’ll find 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v5.0, GPS/ A-GPS, USB Type-C port, and a 3.5mm headphone jack available on it. Other additional sensors include an accelerometer, ambient light, gyroscope, magnetometer, and a proximity sensor.
A fingerprint sensor is present on the back and a 4,000mAh battery makes sure you’ll be able to use it for a decent amount of time before it will need a full charge.
It comes in Black, Green and Blue color options and the company is currently holding a flash sale for the device today and on August 2nd.
The devices are priced at CNY 2,199 (around $320) for the 6GB RAM + 128GB storage configuration, CNY 2,499 (~$360) for the 8GB RAM + 128GB storage option and CNY 2,799 (~$406) for the top-of-the-line variant with 8GB RAM + 256GB storage.
