iPhone 12 Pro Max definitely does its name justice. Meaning, the rumors were true. The biggest iPhone variant might be a difficult adjustment for those who are not used to phablets although the increased display area is certainly a plus. Also, the upgrades done on iPhone 12 Pro Max’ cameras are something to behold. (Update)
Apple’s event confirmed the presence of a LiDAR scanner on the iPhone 12 devices but not the refresh rate (see below). However, Tim Cook and his team expanded on the camera rumors we talked about, revealing a much larger sensor on the iPhone 12 Pro Max and a different type of OIS, Sensor Shift.
The latest rumors on the expected iPhone 12 come from YouTuber Filip Koroy (aka EverythingApplePro) and leaker Max Weinbach, revealing a significant difference between the top two iPhone 12 models, the 6.1-inch iPhone 12 Pro and the 6.7-inch iPhone 12 Pro Max.
According to the story, it seems like the Pro Max will integrate the best display and cameras in the iPhone 12 range, with the cost of being more expensive, of course. The leak hints that the phone will have some exclusive feature, like the display running at a 120Hz refresh rate, or the LiDAR camera sensors on board.
“The 6.7-inch mammoth iPhone [12 Pro Max] will truly be considered a flagship this year,” states Koroy. “It will have the best display and best cameras… The [iPhone] 11 Pro and 11 Pro Max really were the same devices, the 12 Pro and 12 Pro Max will be more differentiated.”
The $1,199 handset would also feature an edgy new design, and Max Weinbach’s source confirms that the handset “it’s quite uncomfortable to hold. The bigger the size gets, the more it digs into your palm and, depending on the size of your hands, it may be a problem. Cases could alleviate this, but it definitely is a very slick and sharp piece of hardware.”
Besides the edgy design and the performant cameras, the handset is more likely to integrate 5G technology.
