Weirdest-Looking ASUS Portable Monitor Yet Makes More Sense Than You Think

Asus’ latest monitor doesn’t look like anything you’ve come to associate with monitors. And yet, it makes total sense.

The ProArt Display PA147CDV is 14 inches with a wacky 32:9 aspect ratio. Now, that’s not enough to be a fully-fledged display but… it doesn’t want to be a secondary monitor, either.

Rather, its purpose is to be a companion during creative tasks, much like the secondary display of the Zenbook Pro Duo 15.

It comes with a mechanical stand that can help you use it horizontally or vertically next to your monitor or laptop to take notes. The display doesn’t disappoint – as a ProArt member, it covers 100% of the sRGB color gamut and is Calman-verified for color accuracy.

The dial on the side has a similar function to the Surface Dial from Microsoft and, in fact, supports all the apps that one does.

You can use it to access Adobe Photoshop or Lightroom Classic and works with Microsoft’s Pen Protocol 2.0.

Not only graphic designers can take advantage of it but video editors too, as the screen can show a timeline separately, making their job easier.

The super slim monitor does have enough space for two USB-C ports and an HDMI port, by the way.

There’s no telling how much it will cost when it hits market but we do know ASUS intends to release it in Q2 2022.
