The memo reveals that the employee in question used false usernames to do “direct code changes” to a Tesla operating system and was also “exporting large amounts of highly sensitive Tesla data to unknown third parties” before being discovered.

“As you know, there are a long list of organizations that want Tesla to die,” highlighted Elon Musk in the memo, and then asked his employees to “be on the alert for anything that’s not in the best interests of our company.”

While the memo states that the incident is related to a disgruntled employee who wanted a promotion, Tesla could soon have its hands full with these types of incidents. After all, the company just laid off more than 3,000 employees in an effort to minimize losses and wants to ramp up Model 3 production to 5,000 units per week.
