Apple has not yet announced the new iPhone models, or even the events where they will be unveiled, but people have been expecting and talking about them all year.

The shipments of the new models that will be revealed mid-September are expected to reach no less than 70 to 75 million units as early as the end of the year, which would be on par with the launch of the iPhone 6. This number would not include the sales of older generation iPhones though.

Ever since the iPhone X, the company’s shipments have been mostly flat, with rumors of a slow decline this year due to the strong competition from the Chinese brands which have dominated most of 2018.

A report from a Chinese analyst estimated that the ratio of sales between the three models – the 5.8 inch, 6.1 inch and 6.5 inch to be 2:5:3, which would suggest that the 6.1 inch LCD sales are the same as the combined sales of the OLED models.

Analysts believe that the 5.8 inch iPhone X that will hit the market will see a $100 drop and start at $899 while the 6.5 inch would instead become the $999 iPhone thanks to its upgraded storage options.
