Automakers are really kicking things into gear for CES 2019. BMW joins the race and promises to let attendants take virtual drives into the BMW Vision iNEXT, the company’s all-electric and highly automated concept car. Basically, attendants will get to experience a mixed-reality installation featuring VR goggles for a taste of tomorrow’s driving.
What’s really new though is the opportunity to see in action the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant, which “suggests an agenda for the day and plans the activities for the trip perfectly.”
Of course, the BMW Assistant will also be in charge of multiple services, like engaging with smart home devices, helping with shopping or setting up video calls.
“The BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant marks the dawn of a new era for the BMW brand, using natural language for interaction with the vehicle and to access functions. In the new BMW X5 visitors can check out the functions that will be available for new models from March 2019, along with selected future capabilities of the BMW Intelligent Personal Assistant. The personal assistant is also an integral part of the stand concept,” explains BMW.
For those who don’t have to budget to try the new BMW X5, this is probably the best opportunity to see what the automaker is bringing forward.
