Acer is going for the professional notebook market with two new Chromebooks, the Chromebook 13 and Chromebook Spin 13, both of them expected to launch in September.

The Chromebook 13 is the cheapest option, starting at $650. It’s a traditional notebook with a decent enough configuration consisting of an i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 32 GB of storage which, for $100 more, can be upgraded to an i5.

For fans of 2-in-1 laptops, there’s the Chromebook Spin 13 which features a touchscreen and the 360-degree hinge which lets you use it as a tablet. Of course, you’ll have to pay extra for this. The base model is $750 and offers an Intel Core i3 processor, 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB of storage. Go up to $950 and the specs are upgraded to an i5, 16 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage.

Both of the new Acer Chromebooks feature all-aluminum bodies and come with 13-inch, 2256 x 1504 IPS displays. Their specs, while not high-end, do run high enough to make them perfect for office settings, especially for workers who rely on cloud services.

If everything goes to plan, we could see them at IFA Berlin, this August. Stay tuned for our live coverage!
