Back in September, Huami started teasing its MWC 2020 lineup of smartwatches.
Since then, all major tech events were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, so Huami put a stop to its launches.
Now, the company is back with its most promising product, the Amazfit X smartwatch with a curved display …and a curved battery to match!
The Amazfit X smart band will need some community support to make it to launch, with Huami starting an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign with it.
That makes sense, considering this is a highly-experimental and unique device.
The only other curved device we saw in recent memory is from Nubia, so the market for this is still untapped.
From the original announcement, we knew that the Amazfit X has a 2.07-inch screen with 430 nits of brightness for extra clarity in sunlight.
Now, the Indiegogo page reveals that the screen is an AMOLED with a 92-degree curve, set into an all-metal body.
Because of the curved design, the Amazfit X has a 3-segment motherboard to fit it and a 220 mAh curved battery, which should provide enough juice for 7 days.
With App notifications, various sports tracking functions and what Huami says is “a near-medical ECG tracking with the embedded BioTracker™ PPG sensor for 24 hours a day, where a detected anomaly can prevent unnoticed chronic diseases,” this is certainly one of the most impressive smart bands we’ve seen so far.
Find it on Indiegogo.
