Google rolled out Android 11 back in September, and the first devices to run the new operating system were the new Google Pixel 5 and Pixel 4A 5G. Since then, the OS was gradually released to selected devices, and the time has now come for Samsung’s flagships to get the latest version of Android.
The Galaxy S20, S20+, and S20 Ultra were the first to receive the new version of the operating system at the beginning of the month. Now, Android 11 is available for the Galaxy Note 20, Note 20 Ultra, and the S20 FE. But Samsung didn’t stop here, according to SamMobile, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G is also getting the latest version of Android, just in time for Christmas.
The new Android 11 brings new lock screen widget refinements, Quick Panel customization improvements, Digital Wellbeing enhancements, overhauled notifications, and many, many subtle UI revisions that come together to radically upgrade the user experience. Also, the latest (and greatest) security patches.
It’s definitely not easy to incorporate all of Android 11’s improvements into a foldable device, so it’s surprising Samsung is already rolling out the new operating system to the Galaxy Z Flip 5G.
This being said, it is reported Samsung is already working on Galaxy Z Flip 2, rumours and leaks suggesting major improvements to the next generation of the foldable flagship.
