Apple’s MagSafe Duo Charger Is Less Powerful Than The Regular MagSafe Charger

With the latest iPhone came the MagSafe line-up, a series of accessories using Apple’s magnetic technology to connect to the handset. The range includes MagSafe chargers, MagSafe cases, and the MagSafe wallet.

The MagSafe Duo charger is designed to power both your iPhone and Apple Watch at the same time. Unlike other MagSafe accessories, the Duo charger isn’t available in shops yet, but Mark Gurman from Bloomberg spotted some interesting information about the gadget.

The information updated on Apple’s product information page shows the Duo charger will be less powerful than the regular MagSafe charger, even with a 27-watt brick. The regular charger powers the iPhone 12 at 15W, but less for older devices. It makes sense the Duo charger is slower, as it has to power two devices at the same time.

The MagSafe Duo charger is expected to cost $129, but the exact release date is still unknown, Apple still says its “coming soon”.
