With major gaming conferences canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic, companies haven’t had a central place to announce their gaming news. As a result, next generation news has been trickling out slowly over company blogs and social media. The latest announcement comes from Sony.
Via the PlayStation blog, Sony showed off illustrations of their next generation box art. Overall, it looks similar to PS4 box art but with a white bar at the top.
The choice for the white-black-blue aesthetic matches the overall aesthetic of the system. The otherwise minimal changes could help gamers recognize the console’s cross-generation compatibility. However, it may also confuse gamers looking to buy the PlayStation 5 version if they don’t look too carefully.
Certainly not the biggest announcement, it’s still nice to hear news of what’s happening with the PlayStation 5.
