Next year, YouTube is going to concentrate its efforts on bringing the TV on the computer with a live cable streaming, sources for Bloomberg say #todaymagic
According to their sources, the “Unplugged” streaming project is one of YouTube’s highest priorities right now,as they are very much aware of the fact that people are getting further and further away from the traditional TV. That said, people are sticking to their news segments and keep watching TV shows on NBC or CBS.
If all goes well, YouTube should offer this TV streaming option from 2017. Until then, they’re in talks with TV giants as Fox and Viacom for long-term partnerships. Once it’s online, expect to pay a monthly subscription for it, just like YouTube Red.
