Games apps attracted 75% of the total App Store revenue even though other types of apps occupy the majority of App Store marketplace.

This year’s hit reached $600 million in revenues FASTER than any other app, even Candy Crush Saga, a favorite amongst mobile games. And its huge success is evident on the other platform most known to mobile users, Android. Here, it’s in top 5 general apps, behind Facebook, Chrome and YouTube.
Another fun thing to consider: during this time period, the game was installed double as much as Snapchat and Instagram were, one of the top Social Media apps in the world.
