According to a report by VGC, Halo and Destiny 2 may be heading on a collaboration collision course.
This is based on a leak from three months ago. Leaks by themselves more often than not are not credible, yet components of this leak have continued to be proven true over the course of the summer.
The most recent confirmed item was a “Season of the Lost” event, which Bungie announced only a few days ago.
If the leak is indeed true, Bungie will release Halo related content in celebration of their 30th Anniversary. This content includes Halo-related equipment, missions, weapons, and armors. It is unclear, though, that Destiny 2-related items will make their way to Halo.
Regardless, the collaboration seems both fated and a pleasant surprise. Bungie originally developed Halo for PCs, but during the development phase, Microsoft reached out to see if Bungie could work on the first-person shooter for their new console, the Xbox. The rest is history as Halo has become synonymous with Xbox.
Unfortunately, Bungie and Microsoft split and 343 Industries took over the development of the Halo games. Bungie used its experience and created the highly popular Destiny series.
A Halo-collaboration with Destiny would certainly be a sight for sore eyes for fans of both series and of Bungie. Here’s to hoping we see these rumors come to fruition.
