Honor Magic 3 To Come With Crazy Powerful Chip and Sliding Camera

Honor is taking full advantage of its separation from Huawei. The brand can now leverage technologies from American companies for their phones which has, in turn, led to the revival of a whole new series, the Honor Magic. Honor Magic 3 is finally coming out, after a three year hiatus! Not only that but the smartphone is said to come with a powerful chip and sliding camera.

Honor Magic 3 With Google Services?

After Honor 50 series made 77 million dollars in sales in 1 minute, the company wants to bring another player to the scene, the Magic 3. Remember the Magic 2 which made waves in 2018? Well, now, three years later, Honor wants to come up with a sequel. The Honor Magic 3 is said to come with technology from Qualcomm and Google services so you won’t have to make any compromise when it comes to power and software.

Honor Magic 3 will likely skip the foldable and flip design and go for a… slider one. If you remember, the cool thing about Honor Magic 2 was that it avoided the whole notch business by hiding the frontal camera and sensors. Where? Well, not under the display, but in a separate phone piece that slid out. Honestly, there was a lot of 2000s inspiration there with the added per of no top bezel in sight!

Honor Magic 3 Design, Display and Camera

However, that design was impressive in 2018; since then we all know that phone makers have veered towards under the display cameras. Could Magic 3 go for this improved design instead? There are 50/50 odds if you ask me, especially since Honor Magic 2 did hide the fingerprint sensor.

As for the display size, since Honor Magic 2 had a 6.40-inch AMOLED display, its sequel should opt for a 6.5-inch screen at most.

Honor Magic 3 may not embrace the notch but it will embrace more, better cameras. In three years, phone cameras went up by leaps and bounds and I think we’ll see some of those camera upgrades on Magic 3, too. If Honor Magic 2 had three rear cameras – a 16MP wide, a 16MP ultrawide and a 24MP monochrome – the sequel might just go with a quad module. I wouldn’t be surprised if Honor would even switch up the mono with a macro, as that seems to be the marketing trend nowadays.

As for the main camera, a 108MP sensor might lead the troops. After all, Honor 50 went with that so it would be very easy to follow the same recipe. As for the selfie camera, I think Honor could opt for a 32MP one while keeping the same depth sensors.

Honor Magic 3 Camera and Battery Life

The phone will be powered by the mighty Snapdragon 888 PLUS! The just-announced chip from Qualcomm could debut on Honor Magic 3 with a boosted clock speed and 20% better AI skills. That will turn Honor Magic 3 into a flagship instantly.

Unlike Huawei phones, Honor Magic 3 will offer Google services. Users will get to watch their favorite YouTubers in-app, drive with Google Maps and download all the games they want from the Play Store.

If you ask me, all of that implies Honor Magic 3 will offer a premium experience, starting with the display and ending with the battery life. Indeed, Honor Magic 3 should come with a 4,000mAh – 4,500 mAh battery. It might even sell with more than the 40W fast charging Honor Magic 2 was offering.

Honor Magic 3 Price and Other Specs

As for the rest of the specs, my guess is just as good as yours! Will it be 8GB of RAM with 256GB of storage? Probably so. Android 11 out of the box? Very likely!

What about the price? You should expect a steeper price than in 2018. Back then, Honor Magic 2 sold for $650 or so. Now, Magic 3 might go for $750, considering the processor and camera upgrades.

We’ll know more this August, when the phone is rumored to be unveiled. By the way, Honor could give us more than we expect – there’s also a rumor about a foldable phone. If that’s true, what could Honor do to stand out?
