HP took to Computex 2019 to announce its first laptops with authentic wood paneling, an option that will stretch out across the Envy line from Envy 13, Envy x360 13, Envy x360 15 all the way to the bulkier Envy 17.
The wood is real and comes in three color combinations. One of them is a black variant with a dark brown walnut inlay while the cream white and silver options are made out of birch.
The latter barely hints at the touch of wood, thanks to the way this particular wood behaves once it’s treated and polished. And, of course, wood being wood, it’s never the same everywhere, so each laptop will be, in its own way, unique.
The laptops will come with the latest Intel processors or second-generation Ryzen mobile chips as well as the usual HP features like the Wake On fingerprint reader and Alexa.
They will launch sometime in Fall of this year, so we’ll hear more about them in a few months.
