IFA Berlin is less than 2 weeks away and Huawei has big plans for this event. The company will be releasing EMUI 9, built on top of Android 9, at the biggest expo of the fall.
The first device to receive the anticipated EMUI 9 software will obviously be the Huawei P20 flagship, which was recently awarded the EISA Best Smartphone 2018-2019 prize. Next off to get the EMUI 9 update will be a Mate series device, which could mean that the Huawei Mate 20 will ship with the new firmware. Hopefully, we’ll see the device announced at IFA Berlin since we’ve seen plenty of leaks already.
EMUI 9’s most anticipated feature is GPU Turbo, a technology that will dramatically increase Graphics Processing Efficiency and let you run higher-spec games without killing your battery life. It’s a 60% graphics processing efficiency increase and a 30% reduction in power consumption, which makes EMUI 9 really attractive to gamers indeed.
GPU Turbo is part of the EMUI 8.1 and is being beta tested in China on the Huawei Mate line and the Honor 9 and 10 line. That means we’ll probably see it in EMUI 9 as well in a few weeks.
