Instagram has attracted hundreds of high-profile users, from creatives to celebrities. Since everywhere they go, haters follow, their accounts end up being hacked multiple times because the security system does not provide efficient protection. Yesterday, Instagram announced they are going to change that by adding phone number verification.

Years after Facebook introduced two-factor authentication, Instagram listened and made the right call. The company is now slowly integrating phone verification so that user accounts stay safe. Until now, it was enough to login with username and password but from now on users will have to prove they are accessing the platform from their own mobile. Everytime a user logs in, he will receive a message with an authentication code. This is needed to complete the process and have access to your account from a mobile device.

Keep updating the app and check for the feature if you care about data privacy.
