Is This A New Apple Watch? No, It’s the New Oppo Smartwatch

Oppo will bring at MWC 2020 not just with the Oppo Find X2 but also a new wearable.

One of the companies’ vice presidents took to Weibo to share the first render for the new Oppo smartwatch and, surprise surprise, it looks almost like the Apple Watch.

From the square face with rounded edges to the silicone strap, the Oppo smartwatch shares a lot of design aesthetics to Apple’s wearable.

Oppo didn’t say what the two right hand side buttons do, nor did it share more images. Could there be a crown on the left side or more buttons?

That’s something that we’ll find out at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, on February 24, so stay tuned for updates.

It’s also worth noting that the Oppo smartwatch teaser image has the date set to Friday 6th.

If you look at the calendar, the next Friday to fall on a 6th is in March, so that might be a sneaky way for Oppo to announce the release date of their smartwatch.

If you can’t wait that long and want an Apple Watch-looking smartwatch on a budget, there’s always Xiaomi to scratch that itch.
