The last Star Wars movie may have disappointed you, but one thing is sure: lightsaber fights are always going to be a major fantasy. So, HTC Vive and ILMxLAB have found a way to give fans what they’ve always wanted: wielding their own weapon in the Star Wars universe.
Lucasfilm’s laboratory for virtual and augmented reality projects released a trailer for a would-be game called Trials of Tatooine that can be accessed only through a HTC Vive gear. The “cinematic virtual reality experiment” will likely offer you the gaming experience as a Jedi yourself and add story lines you’ll follow religiously. In the teaser trailer above, you can see R2-D2 and the Millenium Falcon making a comeback as well as a bunch of Storm Troopers on planet Tatooine.
As the HTC Vive launches at the beginning of April, we’ll see if “Star Wars: Trials of Tatooine” follows in its footsteps and becomes available to the general public.
