If you’ve known LeEco just as a smartphone manufacturer so far, it’s time to get a better look at it. The company is delving into the auto industry as well, with plans of putting up a large car factory in China for electric vehicles #automagic
In April, LeEco came out with a surprising piece of news. They had been working on a self-driving electric car concept under the name LeSEE. It featured a foldaway steering wheel, showed the outside world on the front of the car and could reach speeds of 130mph! We had no idea how they were going to proceed from that point on, but we’ve finally got an answer: LeEco is definitely going for the gold, challenging Tesla by building a huge, $1.8 billion plant in China.
The electric car factory will be located outside Hangzhou and bound to produce 400.000 vehicles per year. That’s not all, folks; LeEco is trying to create a whole experience around their electric cars designing a sort of amusement park there, called the “Eco Experience Park”.
What do you think – is Tesla is starting to lose ground to Porsche, Corvette, Alibaba, Quantino and now, LeEco?
