Lenovo ThinkReality A3 Smart Glasses Can Change The Way We Perceive Augmented Reality

Last week, at CES 2021, Lenovo has finally unveiled its ThinkReality A3 augmented reality glasses at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2021. Lightweight and customizable with different frame options, the ThinkReality A3 fits like a regular pair of sunglasses with the exception that this pair provides a connection to a PC and specific Motorola Smartphones via a USB-C cable.

According to a press release by Lenovo, the ThinkReality A3 “is part of a comprehensive digital solution offering to deliver intelligent transformation in business and bring smarter technology to more people.” Lenovo also took to Twitter to talk about the device:

Versatile, portable, and comfortable. Introducing the Lenovo ThinkReality A3 — The most versatile smart glasses ever designed for the enterprise with #Snapdragon XR1.

The ThinkReality A3 PC Edition can be connected to a laptop or a mobile workstation and enables the user to utilize Windows software tools and applications from multiple, large virtual monitors located in their field of view

The virtual monitors are optimized and compatible with Lenovo’s leading ThinkPad laptops and mobile workstations powered by Intel and AMD Ryzen™ processors, creating a more productive, private, and immersive environment for several key industries such as finance, architecture, and engineering.

The A3 Industrial Edition tethers to Motorola smartphones powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor and, it is supported by Motorola’s ThinkReality software platform for hands-free AR tasks.

The A3 is a next-generation augmented reality solution – light, powerful and versatile,” said Jon Pershke, Vice President of Strategy and Emerging Business Development at Lenovo. “The smart glasses are part of a comprehensive integrated digital solution from Lenovo that includes the advanced AR device, ThinkReality software, and Motorola mobile phones. Whether working in virtual spaces or supporting remote assistance, the ThinkReality A3 enhances workers’ abilities to do more wherever they are.

The Lenovo ThinkReality A3 smart glasses are a successor to the ThinkReality A6 headset from 2019 and will be available in select markets worldwide starting mid-2021.
