Remember when phone phreaking was a thing? If you’re too young to have been a teen or adult in the 90s, then this movie will be a fascinating insight into the world of hacking.
John “Captain Crunch” Draper is one of the most influential hackers / technologists in the world. He even worked alongside Steve Jobs and Steve Wozniak, the founders of Apple, to create phone-hacking boxes.
Back when you could hack a phone line using only a toy whistle to avoid paying for the calls, Draper was Apple’s employee 13 – hence the name of this full-length feature that’s currently seeking funding via Kickstarter.
However, his life story is a lot more interesting than that.
