Magic Leap Offers a Peek at Its Mixed Reality Interface

Magic Leap One was never eager to disclose what the mixed reality set was capable of in advance, but with the disappointing reviews of its AR demo and the shipping date closing in fast, they seem to be more willing to share information now.

A few official shots of the interface were released by the company but, unfortunately, they don’t reveal much except for the fact that it’s pretty straightforward and easy to use.

One of the pictures showcase an app menu, another, a way to connect with friends or employ voice recognition and there’s also a photo showing off a game where you blast out robots. It also looks like the real world will fade out of focus when using the menus.

What everyone will be looking forward to is the so-called ‘immersive apps’, which were promised when the company first announced their product. Remember the tiny elephant? The whale splashing about in a school gym? Yes, that’s what we’re looking forward to as well.

The images might only be a render of sorts, since they do not seem to have been captured from the headset directly but even so, they do give us a better idea at how Magic Leap’s AR goggles might be like.

The mixed reality headset is supposed to hit the shelves this summer but so far the company has not officially announced the exact date.
