McLaren’s Senna hypercar was unveiled in 2017. The car got its name from famous Formula 1 driver Ayrton Senna and was created to be, at the time, the ultimate road-legal track car.

The car has a 4.0 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, which translates into 789 horsepower and 590lb-ft worth of torque. While the car weighs around 2,641 kilograms in real life, McLaren has unveiled the 1:1 scale Lego version recently and it so happens that it tips the scale at no less than 3,348-pounds.

Yes, the Lego version is much heavier than the original.

And not only is it heavier, but it also took longer to build than the actual Senna: 5000 hours, to be exact. Around 500,000 Lego bricks were used to create it, while also adding functioning lights as well as a working infotainment system.

Even if it’s made of Lego pieces, the toy car still sports genuine Senna parts such as a seat, a steering wheel and pedals.

This is not the first collaboration between McLaren and Lego though; previously, the company built a Lego McLaren 720S but, unlike the Senna, it took ‘only’ 2000 hours to build and used up 280,000 pieces.
