The rumored Metroid Prime Trilogy for the Switch is reportedly complete and just awaiting a Nintendo green light to release.

You heard that right: a collection of the Metroid Prime games is rumored to have completed development. According to VGC, Nintendo is currently holding the game while it awaits better timing for its release. In particular, the company has held off announcing the game “partly due to restricted QA resources during the pandemic, and possibly to align it more closely with the release of Metroid Prime 4.”

For fans worried that this could be a question of Nintendo’s faith in the series, VentureBeat journalist Jeff Grubb assures fans that it isn’t. Nintendo is just waiting for the right time and processes to go through to release the game.

Fans of the Metroid series have been waiting anxiously for a Trilogy or news about Metroid Prime 4, but the surprise reveal of Metroid Dread delighted many fans. The release of the Metroid Prime Trilogy would certainly excite many fans and show that Metroid is still a series that company prioritizes.
