We knew that the next HoloLens would become available this year but we had no idea when. As the months passed, it seemed that if Microsoft released the HoloLens in 2019, it would most likely happen during the Mobile World Congress. Now, we have the confirmation.
Microsoft released a mysterious teaser video that was published by Alex Kipman, HoloLens’ creator and that focused on the date of February 24th, which just so happens to be the day of the company’s MWC conference.
The next-gen HoloLens is expected to arrive with a better display, updated sensors and probably a Snapdragon 850.
Microsoft confirmed that it would also have an updated Holographic Processing Unit with AI acceleration capabilities.
Microsoft has completely sold out its original HoloLens units, with neither the developer kit nor the commercial version available for sale anywhere.
