Mortal Kombat 1 To Feature Megan Fox As Nitara

NetherReal Studios is pulling all the stops for the upcoming Mortal Kombat 1 and roped in Megan Fox as Nitara.

The actress, known for her Transformers role, will have the time of her life as a vampire.

Who is Nitara? Actually, she’s not a new Mortal Kombat character, just a lesser known one. 

Nitara Might be an unknown name in MK lore nowadays but those whose Mortal Kombat knowledge stopped by the early 2000s will recognize her from the MK Deadly Alliance game from the Xbox / Gamecube / PS2 era.

Nitara is a vampire and her fatality is what you’d expect from such a creature: a chomp on the enemy’s neck. As PlayStation underlined, this is Nitara’s first Mortal Kombat appearance in more than 17 years, so oldschool fans do have a great reason to check out the newest Mortal Kombat reboot.

The Mortal Kombat 1 launch is just around the corner – it’s set for September 14th for those who get the Kollector and Premium Editions, and the 19th for buyers of the Standard Edition.

Mortal Kombat 1 story

Despite the name, Mortal Kombat 1 is not a reboot but a sequel of Mortal Kombat 11 and Aftermath. However, you can consider it a “reboot” of some sort, considering the Mortal Kombat 1 story has Fire God Liu Kang creating an entirely new universe.

Here’s the official synopsis:

Discover a reborn Mortal Kombat Universe created by the Fire God Liu Kang. Mortal Kombat 1 ushers in a new era of the iconic franchise with a new fighting system, game modes, and fatalities!”

Mortal Kombat 1 characters

Most beloved Mortal Kombat characters will be present in this game, from Scorpion and SubZero to Kitana and Mileena.

Mortal Kombat 1 pre-orders came with Shang Tsung as a bonus, but there will be a lot of cool Kameo fighters as well. Most notably, Mortal Kombat 1 will have a Jean-Claude Van Damme skin for Johnny Cage.

In a live action trailer from last month, Dave Bautista also showed up to pay homage to the Mortal Kombat Legacy – check out the video below, it will make you want to rewatch the MK movie.

For those who missed the news and don’t know what Mortal Kombat kameo fighters are, they’re simply a new category of characters that can assist you during matches. During fights, you can summon a Kameo to assist you.
