Nikon used all the latest technology advances on this lens, from fluorine coatings to keep away dust and fingerprints to Nano Crystal Coat for anti-flare and ghosting. Of course, nothing good comes at a low price. This lens is going to set you back around $2,199, even more than the Gold Ring primes by Nikon.
Our advice? Don’t go and buy it blindly. Wait for the first reviews and if possible, check out your photographer friends’ opinions.
