The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) has been announced!

Earlier today, Nintendo released an announcement trailer for the new model. This revision is largely the same as previous models, just with some quality of life updates to make playing the games on the go and at home a little more comfortable.

Most significantly, the screen is larger, expanding from the original 6.2-inches to 7.0-inches. It is also more vibrant thanks to the use of OLED technology, the OLED screen where the Switch model takes its name.

For playing with friends on the go, there is a wider, more adjustable stand. Whereas the stand on the original Switch models was a small kickstand off to the side, the OLED Model has a kickstand basically the width of the Switch. In addition, there are at least three adjustable heights for different viewing angles.

There will also be enhanced audio from the onboard speakers and double the internal storage (64 GB instead of 32).

When it comes to playing at home, the largest difference is a new wired LAN port. The dock has also been aesthetically adjusted, with more curved edges rather than sharp corners.

The Nintendo Switch (OLED Model) will be available October 8th for $349.99 in both the featured white model and the traditional neon red/blue model.
