We have already had a few leaks regarding the Realme GT 2 Pro floating around online – some of them mentioned the presence of the Snapdragon 888 as well as a 108 or 50MP camera. Most of these leaks however, did not really track, as is usually the case when a new device is expected on the market.
However, we do have another leak to work with, and this one comes from a post on the Chinese microblogging platform Weibo, made by WHYLAB, a leakster that has been pretty reliable in the past.
According to them, the next high-end smartphone that will take the name of GT 2 Pro, and whose model number will be RMX3301, will see the light at the beginning of 2022. And the technical characteristics won’t be bad at all.
The phone will have a 6.51-inch AMOLED FHD + display with 404ppi pixel density and a high refresh rate (most likely 120Hz). The Realme GT Pro 2 will also have a 5,000mAh battery with 125W fast charging support.
Contrary to what has been leaked in the past days, GT 2 Pro will feature a brand new chipset, a “Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1”, according to the post, which will be the Snapdragon 898.
The device will have 8GB RAM and UFS 3.1 for 128GB of internal storage.
In terms of cameras, the Weibo post mentions a 32MP selfie snapper on the front, while the back will most likely host a triple camera setup. Of these, the post only mentions a 50MP main camera, but, if Realme plans for this device to be its 2021/2022 flagship, an ultrawide camera and a telephoto unit should make an appearance as well.
Functions like autofocus, OIS and EIS will, of course, make an appearance.
The device will be based on Android 12 with Realme UI 3.0 on top, out of the box.
Other features will include Wi-Fi 6 support and Bluetooth 5.2.
According to another Weibo post, the device will cost around $625.
Take all this information with a pinch of salt, of course, until Realme will tell us more or we have an even more reliable leak on hand.
