Redmi 8 Has A Snapdragon 439 Chipset and a 5,000mAh Battery

Redmi

Redmi only just introduced the Redmi 8A two weeks ago and it already has another smartphone on the line: the Redmi 8. While it is similar in specs to its somewhat older brother, it arrives in a Xiaomi-designed Aura Mirror glass body design and a few other additional upgrades.

The Redmi 8 has a 6.22 inch HD+ IPS LCD display and a notch that hosts an 8MP F/2.0 selfie snapper. On the back, the smartphone hosts a dual camera setup consisting of a 12MP F/1.8 Sony IMX 363 sensor with 1.4μm sized pixels and dual PD. The second one is a 2MP depth sensor.

They arrive with AI scene detection and 33 profiles that range all the way from scenery to plants and pets as well as 6 India-specific modes. Below this dual camera array rests the fingerprint sensor.

Under the hood, the smartphone features the same Snapdragon 439 chipset as the Redmi 8A. It comes along with 4GB of RAM and up to 64GB of storage.

Battery-wise, we’re looking at a 5,000mAh cell that handles 18W fast charging. However, the smartphone will only come with a 10W adapter.

Other features include a 3.5mm headphone jack and IR blaster and P2i splash protection. It will come in Sapphire Blue, Onyx Black and Ruby Red color options.

The phone will be introduced in India on October 12th with prices starting at roughly around $112 after conversion for the 3+32Gb model, while the 4+64GB variant will cost $126.
