Yesterday Xiaomi stole all the headlines with the Mi 10 Ultra, the phone with the best camera of 2020.
However, the day also marked the debut of the tempting Redmi K30 Ultra, another feature-packed phone starting at CNY 1,999 (around $300).
But first, let’s get the bad news out of the way.
Both the Redmi K30 Ultra and the Mi 10 Ultra won’t be selling outside of China, nor will they be rebranded as Poco phones to launch internationally.
The news comes from GSMArena, an outlet quoting a direct source – a Xiaomi representative.
Now, let’s hope the company changes its mind and look at what the Redmi K30 Ultra has to offer – beyond the 5G!
The device has a MediaTek Dimensity 1000+ chipset paired with either 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM, with storage starting at 128 GB and going all the way up to 512 GB.
However, what will make it sell like hotcakes is definitely the gorgeous full-view display – it’s an AMOLED with 120 Hz refresh rate, 1200 nits brightness and no notch or punch-hole.
Instead, the Redmi K30 Ultra has a pop-up selfie camera with 20 MP.
On the back, it sports a quad camera combining the 64 MP Sony sensor with a 13 MP wide-angle lens, a 5MP macro lens and a depth sensor.
In terms of connectivity, the new Redmi K30 offers 5G, dual VoLTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.1, and aptX HD.
All of this is powered by a 4,500 mAh battery with 33W fast charging.
While the Redmi K30 specs are similar to the Poco F2 Pro, so you might buy that as an alternative, the gorgeous Mi 10 Ultra has no competition or alternative, so hopefully the company will consider selling it outside China as well.
