Samsung Galaxy S21 FE Confirmed By Company By Mistake

Samsung

When it was launched, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE was a commercial success for Samsung and, of course, a successor was expected.

S20 FE’s successor, the S21 FE, was supposed to be released alongside the Samsung foldables, the Z Flip 3 and the Z Fold 3, however, the ongoing chip shortage cut those plans short (no pun intended).

Even so, Samsung has had a little slip-up recently, which allowed us a glimpse at the next generation S20.

A few days ago, a page on the French Samsung website mentioned the Galaxy S21 FE alongside the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+ and the Galaxy S21 Ultra. The page in question advertised the free YouTube Premium offer that will come along with the S21 FE, a 4 month subscription to the service.

Keep in mind that, even if this information was leaked by one of the official websites, it doesn’t mean that the offer will be available globally, and might only apply in France.

We already have some leaked specifications for the smartphone in addition to this new information, so, truly, there’s very little that the S21 FE can bring to the table to surprise us at this point (but then again, who knows?).

To begin with, the device will have a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED Infinity-O display with Full HD+ resolution and a 120Hz refresh rate. It also comes with HDR10+ and an in-display fingerprint reader.

Under the hood, we’ll find the much-talked about Snapdragon 888, alongside 8GB RAM and 128GB internal storage or 256GB.

The phone will have a 4,500mAh battery with 25W fast charging and Qi wireless charging support.

On the camera side, the Samsung S21 FE will have a 32MP selfie snapper on the front, while on the back we will find a setup consisting of a 12MP primary and an 8MP telephoto camera with OIS. The phone is said to be able to record 4K 60fps videos using all of its cameras.

Other features include GPS, 5G, Wi-FI 6, Bluetooth 5.0, NFC, USB Type C port, Samsung Pay, stereo speakers as well as an IP67 rating for dust and water resistance.

While we have all this information on hand, we don’t know anything about the price of the phone just yet.

However, in spite of the chip shortage and the fact that the phone might not launch alongside the Samsung foldables, a leak like this can only suggest that S21 FE’s launch is getting pretty close as well – we might not see the device make an appearance in September but an October launch sounds more like it.

We’ll have to wait and see but we will keep you updated.
