While the major point of focus for the Samsung developer conference was the foldable smartphone, Samsung had something more to say concerning the new “Infinity Displays” the company is working on.
A slide shown during the conference showed a number of notch designs that are most likely to appear on the Samsung devices starting from 2019.
Hassan Anjun, the product marketing director for Samsung took to the stage to promise the public that the company will continue to shrink the bezels even further and push the limits with their new lineup.
The concepts presented are the Infinity U, which sports a half oval notch that cuts down into the top middle of the display. The Infinity V is similar to the Infinity U, except it has four edges and not an oval.
The Infinity O has a circular cutout while the New Infinity does not seem to have a notch to begin with. Nothing was said about it and we can only assume that Samsung is either exploring the idea of a phone with a slider or that they’re preparing something completely new.
Either way, enjoy your Samsung phones while they’re still around because Samsung might just come up with something so good in 2019 that you won’t even think twice about your 2018 devices.
