I know we’re all getting hyped up about the Galaxy S10+ at the moment, but Samsung’s keeping busy with a number of other things in the meantime. One of them happens to be a smart shirt.

The company filed a patent on January 24th, as spotted by LetsGoDigital, patent which was published by WIPO. The patent describes a shirt with embedded sensors that can diagnose your physical condition, more specifically, the condition of your lungs.

The shirt would monitor your lung activity via the sensors and then send all the data to a companion app.

Technically, it would be capable of detecting problems like bronchitis and pneumonia and even alert you if you might have an asthma attack soon.

Though the patent does not mention if the shirt would be made with athletes in mind, it’s easy to imagine what a good accessory it would be for improving one’s athletic performance. At the same time, its medical benefits would be more than welcomed.

Of course, as it is just a patent, we can’t expect to see this shirt to be released any time soon, if ever, but it’s good to know that Samsung is at least considering the possibility.
