We’re only two weeks away from the CES, with Samsung as one of the biggest names that will make its presence known during the show and by the sound of it, the company is fully embracing AI for its future projects.

Samsung announced eight of its Creative Lab AI projects and three of them have been recognized as CES 2019 Innovation Awards winners.

One of the projects is aiMo – an ASMR sound recording solution that can use a smart phone and a cover case that simulates the human ear. With aiMo, ASMR creators can obtain more enhanced sounds without the need of professional recording devices.

The MEDEO project is an instant video service that allows the users to edit and shoot videos simultaneously. The application blends visual effects and background music with videos during live streaming and can provide 1-click video rendering that can extract just the core scenes.

PRISMIT is an AI news analysis service that can help the readers to better understand issues at just a glance by creating issue-driven timelines.

The service curates the top five articles that best represent the piece of news the reader is interested in, via clustering technology.

Samsung also has physical projects in mind, such as the Girin Monitor Stand that auto adjusts so that the users can keep a proper posture at all times while they work on their computers.

Alight plans to aid people who spend long hours at their desks as well – the desk light is AI-powered and detects user actions through an embedded camera, changing the light according to their actions.

SnailSound, on the other hand, is a hearing assistant solution for people who cannot hear sounds very well. It consists of an earpiece that comes with a companion app. The app can analyze user-preferred sounds from feedbacks and calibrates the sound so the user can hear it better.

Last but not least, Samsung will also showcase a Perfume Blender: a perfume making service that allows users to build their own custom fragrance and share the recipe through the app.

All you’d have to do is take a photo of your favorite perfume and the app will analyze the common ingredients and recommend other fragrances you might like. At the same time, you can also create the perfume yourself with those recipes and adjust the ratio of the different ingredients to create your very own unique fragrance.

By the sounds of it, there’s a lot of things to play with at the Samsung booth and we can’t wait to try them out.
