It seems like Samsung is on a roll for this summer: last week was spent poking some fun at Apple’s iPhone as Samsung is prone to do every once in a while.
Those ads compared the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G’s camera and the 100x Space Zoom feature to that of Apple’s iPhone 12 Pro Max, where, of course, Samsung’s device came out on top.
This week however, Samsung released a new ad, this time focusing just on its upcoming smartphone, the Galaxy Z Fold 3.
Titled “Life Opens Up With Galaxy”, the ad runs for 53 seconds of fast-paced action seen and experienced through the screen of this much-anticipated foldable smartphone.
The ad stresses on the words open and openness, just as a reminder of what’s coming and it’s also easy to spot what appears to be a Galaxy Z Fold 2, with a missing front-facing camera. This is one of the Fold 3’s most interesting features: the under-display camera.
We’ll admit the little teaser left us hungry for more.
The smartphone will have a 6.21 inch display that will open up to a more tablet-sized screen measuring 7.55 inches. It’s said that it will be powered by the 5nm Snapdragon 888 chipset and that it will have 256GB of storage.
On the software side, we’ll deal with Android 11 and One UI 3.5, which will move the clickable elements to the bottom of the screen, making it easier for the users to navigate it. It’s expected that the device will also have S Pen support as well as a slot of sorts that will make it easier to carry around.
Allegedly, the smartphone will be made out of stronger, some say even military grade materials, carbon or titanium. While these materials would be needed to protect a device that needs to be handled more carefully than your average non-foldable smartphone, we have to keep in mind that they are expensive and that cost will most likely be reflected in the price tag.
Most of what we know about the Galaxy Z Fold 3 either comes from leaks or mere speculation so far but we can expect Samsung to give us more official information pretty soon. Don’t worry – we’ll tell you all about it.
