Telegram is on a roll! After seeing a massive surge of users, amidst the Whatsapp debacle, Telegram is adamant on making their new fans happy. So, they’ve made one of their best features less restrictive; you’ll be able to auto-delete messages from anywhere, anytime.
Until now, you could auto-delete messages on Telegram in the encrypted Secret Chats. From now on, that will happen in any type of chat, both on the iOS and the Android app. Users will just have to decide if they want Telegram to disappear their messages after 24 hours or 7 days.
Of course, if the messages were sent before the feature was enabled, there’s nothing you can do about it.
Another interesting feature Telegram has released is “Broadcast Groups”. A sort of Clubhouse inside Telegram, if you will.
These groups are alternatives for the ones that have surpassed the 200K limit, as they allow an unlimited number of members. However, here, only group admins can start discussions and members can engage through voice chats.
Their goal? Help users “follow along and catch exclusive interviews, news, or just casual talks.” Along with this update, Telegram is issuing Expiring Invite Links, which are temporary invitations to groups. “Owners and admins can now create additional links with a limited duration, number of uses, or both.”, reads the company’s blog post.
You can see the rest of the improvements Telegram brought to the app on their blog. It’s interesting to notice none of them focuses on bringing the best thing about Secret Chats, which is end-to-end encryption.
