When you can’t fight a problem, go with it. Tesla Motors did exactly that when, instead of fighting the source of pollution (which would be an impossible thing to do for a company), it built a defense mechanism against it. Model X is equipped with something called bioweapon defense mode #automagic
This mode should keep drivers safe from pollution, even in China’s dangerous-to-breathe cities. Tesla tested their car on busy freeways and in such cities and it performed great, as expected. But is this enough to name their technology a bio shield? Not really. So they sealed the car in a deadly chamber, field with air so bad for humans, it can kill them in minutes. With HEPA air filtering system on, the car was left to clear the air. And so it did.
In just 2 minutes, Tesla’s Model X proved it could make the indoor environment safe for the driver and create a clear shield outside the car, where the pollution particles were reduced by 40%.
This system is enabled on Model X and all new Model S units.
