Recently, Ikea’s second-generation Symfonisk table lamp speaker has leaked through a support document posted on Ikea’s Portuguese website.
The leak was discovered by a Reddit user who apparently found the lamp with a new design having the much-needed option to swap in different styles of the lampshade, in one of the Ikea stores.
The most notable difference is the lampshade element that lacks the mushroom-like thick glass shade for detachable options.
It seems like the new design has discarded the platter-like foundation for one that combines the speaker controllers straight into the unit. Just like the original version, the new design supports both Sonos’ multiroom audio system and Apple’s AirPlay 2.
The lamp would arrive in two different shade options, a cylindrical glass a translucent foundation option, in black and white color schemes.
In terms of prices, the designs will cost about €20 each, while the main speaker part will be available at the cost of €129.
The new table lamp was rumored along with the Symfonisk picture frame speakers which was not officially announced yet but is just a matter of time until it does.
