One thing we know about OnePlus is that the manufacturer has always done its best to offer the best possible features on their devices and leaving out what they don’t consider necessary and it looks like OnePlus believes that wireless charging is not a necessity, as confirmed by company CEO Pete Lau.
Lau explained that he believes wireless charging is too slow when compared to the Warp Charge the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition currently offers.
Of course, that doesn’t mean that the brand will not eventually deliver wireless charging – it’s just that, at the moment, it prefers to work on accelerating the technology instead, to the point where it would truly prove to be a benefit for the users.
OnePlus normally announces its upcoming handsets in May or June, so that’s when we should expect to see the next device from the company but, as we know now, without wireless charging. But who knows, maybe OnePlus will change its mind and surprise us but nonetheless, count on us to keep you posted with any news or leaks that will come along.
