Vivo Y32: The First Smartphone With Snapdragon 680 Is Here

The Snapdragon 680 chipset is the latest 6nm mid-range Qualcomm processor for 4G smartphones. It is equipped with Kryo 265 cores and combined with an Adreno 610 GPU. And Vivo’s Y32 smartphone is the first one to feature it. 

The Vivo Y32 has a 6.51-inch LCD display with HD + resolution and features a teardrop notch that hosts an 8 MP selfie snapper with an f/1.8 lens.

On the back, we’ll find a double camera setup made out of a 13MP main unit with an f/2.2 lens, and a 2MP macro with an f/2.4 lens.

The Snapdragon 680 processor is combined with 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory which can be expanded up to 1 TB via micro SD. The RAM can also be expanded up to 4GB.
It has Android 11 out of the box, with OriginOS 1.0 on top. 

The battery is a 5,000mAh that, Vivo claims, can offer 27 days of standby time, 143 hours of music playback, as well as 13 hours of gaming or 13 hours’ worth of watching videos on just a single charge. It features 18W charging support. 

On the side, we’ll find a fingerprint scanner, though you have the option to use face unlock too, if that’s more your thing. There’s even a 3.5mm headphone jack thrown into the mix as well. 

In terms of software additions, the device features Game Box 10.0 and multi-Turbo 5.5 to increase gaming performance. While it does have dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 5.0, the Vivo Y32 does not support 5G networks.

Other sensors on the phone include an accelerometer, ambient light sensor, compass/ magnetometer and a proximity sensor.
Overall, the device measures 164.26×76.08x8mm and weighs 182 grams.

The phone comes in two colors: Foggy Night and Harumi Blue (light blue and dark blue, basically) and costs just CNY1,399, which is around $220. At the time this article is being written, Vivo is yet to release information on the official sale date, or global availability.
