Waze is getting a refresh that’s going to make your drive a bit more entertaining.
The app just received an update that streamlines the logo and, notably, adds new Moods.
Drivers on the road will now be able to share even more emotions with other traffic participants using custom Waze emoticons, like “adventurous” and “zombified”.
Something tells us the angry one is going to be the most popular, especially at rush hour.
Why?
“Traffic is the worst. It makes us feel powerless and out of control. At Waze, we work to change that. We do whatever we can to make people’s time on the road more rewarding,” say the developers.
The move is part of a larger brand refresh that wants to make the navigation app a lot more colorful.
“Our conversations took many forms, from regular meetups to a study conducted with 13,000 drivers to asking our rather opinionated Waze-loving friends their opinions”.
The company explains its thinking and how it arrived at the new Waze redesign in this Medium post.
