Winter Update for Animal Crossing Adds Turkey Day, Toy Day, and Save Transfers

PC: Nintendo

The holiday season is here. And with any celebration comes a new Animal Crossing: New Horizons update.

Announced on Nintendo’s YouTube channel, the November and December Animal Crossing: New Horizons free winter update will be centered around two festive days: Turkey Day and Toy Day.

Turkey Day will happen on November 26th. First-class chef Franklin will visit your island. Providing ingredients, like pumpkins, to Franklin will allow it to start cooking you something special.

Toy Day will occur on December 24th. Jingle, the black-nosed reindeer, will arrive on your island that day. It appears as if you will help Jingle deliver presents to your island’s inhabitants. Doing so will spread joy and cheer to your fellow residents.

Beyond these two events, there will be several quality of life updates. For starters, there will be two new Nook Miles items: the Hip Reaction Collection and Top 6 Stylish Hairstyles. The new reactions will include sit down, wave goodbye, take a picture, sniff, work out, yoga, “here you go”, excited, and “ta da.” The stylish hairstyles are fairly self explanatory, with six new previously unavailable hairstyles now available to wear.

Storage inside your house will also increase by 50%, from 1600 items to 2400.

And finally, Save Data Transfer will be available November 19. Save data transfers can work by either transferring your entire island to a different switch and moving on resident from one island to another (other than the main player). There will also be island backup and restore if the feature is enabled. For more information, see here.

The next free update is scheduled for late January.
