Logos are an important part of branding and marketing. For example Sony’s first big reveal for the PlayStation 5 was its logo. A couple months later, Xbox has finally decided to reveal the logo for the Xbox Series X.
However, it appears that the logo was released before Xbox was willing to share it. According to a report on Gamespot, Reddit users found a Xbox Series X patent with the logo on it. Although patents don’t always materialize, it is definitely a sign that this is a serious candidate for the logo’s final iteration.
Additionally, the report notes that trademark does list off some potential uses. Obviously the logo would represent the console and potentially be on the console itself, but the patent lists that it could “cover all types of things, from a game console to bathrobes and even squeezeable stress balls.”
Certainly, there’s still time for Xbox to pivot direction on the logo or even the console, but as we get closer to launch, we’ll certainly get more and more news.
