Seeing how the Razer Phone 2 just debuted, you’d be forgiven if you thought this leaked Xiaomi Black Shark 2 video was anything but a PR stunt. However, no one will ever complain about getting more info about high-end gaming smartphones, so you shouldn’t either.
Xiaomi hasn’t said yet anything about a successor to their gaming smartphone Black Shark and yet, this YouTube user just posted a video of themselves exploring the device. In the video above, the only thing on display is the RGB lighting, on both sides of the smartphone and syncing with the logo.
Surprising? Not really, as the design philosophy for gaming smartphones and other devices tends to begin with sharp, menacing angles and RGB lighting everywhere.
Yet, Black Shark 2 does look sleek and promises to feature plenty of power. While Xiaomi did not officially announce the device, some outlets spotted it on the TENAA board, so we already know what to expect.
Listed under the number AWM-A0, the Xiaomi Black Shark second-gen model will feature a 5.99-inch display with 2160 x 1080 px resolution, 18:9 aspect ratio and a color gamut of up to 97 percent. In terms of processing power, the already-famous Snapdragon 845 is paired with an Adreno 630 GPU, 8 GB of RAM and 132 GB of internal storage. The Black Shark 2 is a gaming smartphone so that means you should also expect liquid cooling and a decent, 4,000 mAh battery. The only big change from the original Xiaomi Black Shark, which came out earlier this year, is the inclusion of a fingerprint sensor under the rear dual-camera.
Of course, Xiaomi might still surprise us at the official reveal of the device, though there’s no word on when that will happen.
