BlackShark 4 Pro Specs and Design Defy Gaming Phone Expectations

As Android phones coming from the prolific Xiaomi phone maker, BlackShark 4 and 4 Pro will feel premium and might even strike you as controversial. Why? Well, there are some things that just don’t add up… at least for now.

For one, the outstanding Antutu score the series got. Apparently, the BlackShark 4 ranks above all others with an almost 800,000 score! More specifically, 788,505, surpassing even Mi 11, which is Xiaomi’s main flagship this year and one phone that made waves in our community!

Although gaming phones tend to be spec kings, the score still managed to surprise us given the fact that BlackShark 4 and 4 Pro aren’t your typical gaming phones.

Rumor is Snapdragon 888 isn’t a sure bet for these phones or at least for the vanilla model. Then, RAM, display, and battery are barely meeting our expectations.

The vanilla BlackShark model will have 8GB of RAM tops, with the Pro upping it to 12GB. Now, that’s all well and good, but Red Magic 6 Pro and ASUS ROG Phone 5 have 18GB of RAM versions.

Plus, it seems like the BlackShark 4 Pro will go with a 6.6-inch display with just a 120Hz refresh rate and is going to stick with a 4500mAh battery.

So, why is BlackShark… settling? Unless, it isn’t. Perhaps Xiaomi is trying to test the market with the first gaming phone… on a budget.
